Firstly you can be successful...
Most people have the vague notion that 'breast is best' however when faced with challenges this notion is not very motivating is it??
Firstly don't be motivated through fear..'I have to breastfeed it best for my baby' 'if i don't breastfeed then I'm failing as a mother'.
Instead think about why you chose to breastfeed. Think about the goal (keep you're eye on the prize as some say). Don't do anything because youfeel you should do it...do it becuase you can and you want to.
Make a list of the reasons why you want to or wanted to breastfeed. Write a list of all the positive benefits you get from feeding your baby and talk to other breastfeeding mums. Share these with a loved one too and they can motivate and encourage you. Surround yourself with people who will support you and be strong against those who do not.
Talk to a professional to help overcome challenges This might be a lactation consultant, your midwife or health visitor to ensure you get good help at the right time.
Believe in your ability to successfully breastfeed your baby. Women have been doing it for years and all animals still do.
